So here it is…January. I don't know about everyone else, but as much as I love Christmas and all of its glitz, I am always *so ready* to clear out the house of all of the garland, tinsel and sparkle. The day that I took down our tree, I continued to walk by the living room as often as possible, just admiring the simplicity of the room without the big fat tree, the red and green ceramic knick knacks and the pinecone topiaries. And it is no coindidence that we are bombarded by retailers trying to get us to organize, clean up and streamline our lives after a season of excess. Simplicity is good. We strive for it, but it is not always easy to maintain.
I am in the process of upgrading my computer system and that has left me with the daunting task of file transfers, backups and purging. And during all of that file sorting, I end up going through my 'favorites'. There is no doubt that those bright and cheery outdoor shots sing to me, but as we are in this season of simplicity, I am also drawn to the classic, clean and simple white background images. With an uncluttered background, there is nothing to focus on but faces, personalities, emotions and feelings.
