There's no doubt that I am drawn to photographs of children laughing. And the way that I interact with children during sessions reflects that – – I get them to interact…to giggle…to laugh. But there is something about the more solemn looks that draw me in…something that makes me want to stare into the photograph. A client recently commented on a photograph displayed in my studio, and she said that the little girl looked sad. As I began to open my mouth to comment, she continued on saying that it was by far, her favorite image. So I got to thinking whether or not I prefer the lighthearted images displaying fun, laughter and exuberant personalities. Or do I prefer the ones that are soulful and dramatic, seemingly showing wisdom beyond their years?
