Favorite Thing #11
Until a few months ago, I had never given coffee much of a chance. I was content to drink an occasional diet soda or iced tea for a caffeine fix. But in the middle of September, I had a headache that would not go away – – in one specific pinpoint location in my head, and it lasted for over a week. During this time, I had an MRI and at certain times, I was convinced I had a brain tumor! Of course, I don’t…and the headache has not returned, but the scare was enough for me to stay away from artificially sweetened drinks. A stressful fall, filled with many, many late nights of work put me in great need of caffeine! And so much love of coffee has begun. I’m lucky enough to live near a drive through Starbucks so on those mornings that I can’t find a spare few seconds to make coffee at home, I can quickly stop by and get a lil’ pick me up. And when I’m feeling particularly stressed and needing to treat myself, a latte is in order…
So today’s favorite thing is a bag of Starbuck’s Christmas Blend coffee, an awesome green travel mug, and a $10 gift card. Drink up!
Trivia Question #11
I must say, I’m a little relieved that this is the last day of having to come up with questions. My brain is FRIED! Christmas is in TWO days…I can hardly believe it! So today’s trivia is based on Christmas…
1) While we celebrate Christmas on December 25th, it is well known that this is not Jesus’ actual birthday. In what year did December 25th first appear on the Roman calendar as Jesus’ birthday?
2) Many people write Xmas as a shortened version of Christmas, and it offends many because it seemingly takes "Christ" out of Christmas. But what does the X really mean?
3) The classic poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas" was originally known by what name?
4) Boxing Day, which is celebrated in many countries on December 26th, is a holy day for which saint?
