Nope, no partridges in a pear tree here!    Today is the first day of my ’12 Days Of Christmas’ giveaway of ‘Heidi’s Favorite Things’.  Starting today, I will be giving away one of my favorite things to one lucky blog-watcher.  There is a catch, of course – – you need to do something – – answer a question, send me a picture, bring me chocolates (ok, maybe not the last one).  But this definitely will not be an easy giveaway.

Oh, and it may not be too PC, but I have no problems with the same person winning more than once!

My favorite thing #1:

I spend a relatively large amount of time on the computer, processing client images, communicating with clients, working on my website, marketing, correspondence…you name it, I’m here.  One thing that helps me get through it is music.  And that same music keeps my feet pounding the pavement (or treadmill) when I actually have enough time to go running.  I’m an iTunes gal – – the Apple products are definitely the most straightforward and iTunes is the simplest music download service I’ve found.  Maybe there is an easier one, I don’t know…but I have an iPod, so I’m stuck with iTunes.  So for today, my favorite thing is an iTunes gift card for $10!  That is 10 songs to which you can sing, run, dance and even cry.

The Trivia Question!

I grew up listening to John Denver and to this day I still know all the words to Grandma’s Feather Bed.  John Denver was an incredible songwriter and as a tribute, one of my favorite musicians (who is an equally amazing songwriter) has covered several of Denver’s songs.  One of these songs has been a recent favorite of mine, as it talks of loving and embracing life, despite how quickly time passes.  Additionally, this songwriter who has led several bands, was featured in a recent favorite movie of mine, Shopgirl.  The first person to email me with the musician’s name as well as the name of the song mentioned above will win a $10 iTunes gift card!

On the first day of Christmas…

It’s nice to know that you remember the things you grew up on, such as John Denver and Apple Pie. Good, earthy things!
